Western Conference 1st placed St. Louis Blues defeated the Phoenix Coyotes 4-0 last night. The win marked goalie Brian Elliot’s 8th shutout of the season. Combined with the Blues’ other netminder, Jaroslav Halak, the team has set a franchise-record 14th shutout of the season. The blues are a good surprise to hockey fans and are now a feared team come playoffs. With a 47-20-9 record on the season thus far, and a 29-4-4 home record, the Blues will have home-ice advantage throughout the playoffs which will be a major uphill battle for any team come playoffs.
