St. Louis Blues Hold Raffle: Win Icetime at Scottrade Center

While the lockout ensues, many teams are still partaking in charitable causes that are going unnoticed. One such cause, The St. Louis Blues 14 Fund, will hold a raffle for a chance to win a private skate.

The St. Louise Blues 14 Fund, the charitable trust of the St. Louis Blues, was created in 1998 to honor former Blues player Doug Wickenheiser. Wickenheiser, #14, passed away in 1999, losing a long battle with cancer. In 2007, the original name of  The Fourteen Fund, became known as it is called present day, incorporating the St. Louis Blues name and logo into the trust.

The charitable trust has a mission to positively impact programs and services that improve health and wellness of youth in the St. Louis area. The trust focuses on four areas of giving; cancer care and awareness, health and wellness, education and youth hockey development. Over the years, The St. Louis Blues 14 Fund has been able to contribute nearly $2 million to the St. Louis community, made possible through the efforts of the Blues’ players, alumni, volunteers and fans.

The St. Louis Blues 14 Fund is raffling off an unique experience for you and 20 of your friends to spend one hour skating on the Blues ice at Scottrade Center. By simply purchasing a $10 raffle ticket, you will be entered in your chance to win this amazing experience. As most may question, you may purchase multiple tickets to increase your odds of winning as well as increasing the help to the community. The estimated total retail value of the prize is one-thousand dollars ($1,000). The winning ticket will be announced on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 3:00 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased by going to the Blues’ website, as well as to see the official rules.

Now in a quick read of the rules, no where does it say a good ‘ol fashioned pick-up game cannot be played during the hour of ice-time. I wonder, will Louie be present? What about Darren Pang? Can you work a deal to have Panger do the play-by-play as well as operate the goal light and horn? Regardless of the fantasied add-ons, the experience would be amazing and for a great cause.
