Last month, Bauer released the new Reactor goal series to compliment their already powerful goalie lineup. In addition to the Reactor pads, part of the release was the top end Bauer Reactor 6000 goal skates.
Designed specifically for the goaltender looking for speed, agility and performance, the Reactor 6000 goal skates offer top of the line protection, along with unmatched comfort.
Bauer has designed the quarter package of the Reactor 6000 using a 3D anaformable tech mesh upper, combined with reinforced ribs on the boot. These materials are going to provide a rigid and tough boot, but one that is also lightweight.
On the inside of the boot, you’ll find a hydrophobic clarino liner to help wick away moisture. Bauer has used medium density foam for ankle padding, along with a new flexible ankle collar for additional flexibility at the ankle. An extended pro felt tongue was used to help protect against lace bite, while a Bauer form-fit foodbed was used. Bauer has also done a favor for goaltenders looking for added comfort by adding an additional layer of comfort foam padding beneath the footbed.
Beneath the boot, Bauer has stocked a reinforced VERTEXX cowling on the Reactor 6000 goal skates. This cowling will provide a 28 percent increase in the angle of attack compared to a standard goal cowling. They’re also equipped with a 4mm stainless steel runner that removes at the turn of a screw.
Coming in at about 907 grams, this a nicely weighted skate that the goaltenders out there will surely appreciate.
