The San Jose Sharks are off to a hot start this season. Through three games, the Sharks have racked up an impressive 17 goals for, while allowing only 4 goals against. Part of that success is due to Tomas Hertl, the 19-year-old rookie from the Czech Republic. Hertl started his season off strong with an assist in the opener. In game two, he tallied two of the teams four goals to help lead the Sharks to a 4-1 victory over Phoenix.
Last night, however, things got crazy. Hertl managed to dominate his way to a four goal performance in only 11:12 of ice time. His four goals made him the youngest player to score 4 goals in a game since Jimmy Carson in 1988.
Capping off Hertl’s incredible night was a sick between the legs goal that made everyone jump out of their seats. Despite being only a few games into the season, this highlight reel goal is already being called the goal of the year by many.
