CCM Jetspeed Skates

CCM’s RBZ line will be picking up a new name this summer.

Making its first public appearance at the Let’s Play Hockey Expo this weekend, the CCM Jetspeed skates are ready to take over where RBZ left off. Let’s dive in to the specs and learn a little bit more about the new CCM Jetspeed skates.

CCM’s Jetspeed skates will use the brand new Rocketframe composite quarter package. It’s a fully shaped composite shell which will wrap closely around your foot to provide advanced contoured support as well as improving heel lock. The result: maximum speed.

Throughout the rest of the Jetspeed skates, CCM carefully chose the lightest components in order to compliment the Rocketframe technology and provide maximum foot speed.

The core of the CCM Jetspeed skates will be the heat moldable SpeedCore 2 Plus. This updated technology will allow for customized fit and support through heat molding.

Inside the boot you’ll find a dual zone soft touch liner. It is lightweight and will wick away moisture quickly, helping to keep your feet dry. The durazone abrasion patch will also enhance comfort and provide increased durability. CCM has used the smooth contour comfort pad as well. This soft pad will provide superior comfort throughout gameplay.

Continuing inside, multi-density memory foam is used for ankle padding on the CCM Jetspeed skates. CCM will also continue to use their custom support footbed on the Jetspeed skates allowing you to choose the proper arch support for your foot type.

The Jetspeed skates will introduce a new tongue as well. CCM calls it the JetProtect tongue and it will be constructed with multi-layer fabrication for enhanced lace bite protection and additional comfort. This tongue was designed with the pro player in mind.

Beneath the boot you’ll find a lightweight composite midsole as well as an ultralight carbon outsole. The outsole comes with exhaust vents to help improve ventilation in the skates, assisting the moisture wicking materials in keeping your feet dry.

CCM will continue to use the SpeedBlade 4.0 holder on the Jetspeed skates. They will also utilize the SpeedBlade Hyper-Glide runner for top speed, glide, and performance.

The CCM Jetspeed skates will arrive in retail stores this summer. Check out the image below of the Jetspeed skates and drop us a note in the comments with your thoughts!

  1. I was wondering what the difference between the Speed Blade Black on the 50K and the Hyper Glide runner is. Is there a significant difference?

    • The two skates have a very different feel. If you’ve used Reebok skates before then you know this already. The 50k skate feels like the previous Reebok skates, as for the Speed Blade skates they have a tighter more snug fit than the previous RBZ line and the hyper glide runner is pretty much self explanatory with its name… its quite fast but also takes good bite on toe pushes and tight corners. The Black however has much more bite, a little less glide. i found it gripped the ice, which can have its advantages. again i found it very similar to the previous Reebok feel

  2. Will the feel of the jet speed differ from the RBZ feel? I have used the high end RBK last season and comparing the two for fit and weight

    • The Jetspeed skates will fit a bit differently than the RBZ. Additionally, Jetspeed will be more rigid than the Reebok line was. Your best bet will be to try them on once they are released and see how they feel on your foot!

  3. What skate can I compare the jet speeds to? Because I have really wide feet with almost no arch, I hear there similar to the apx2. Your opinion is appreciated

  4. When will they be available? I’m looking for a fit as close to my u plus pros as possible in fit and stiffness . Is this it ? Just purchased Bauer 1x way to stiff got rid of them. I need the u plus skate feel again

  5. ATM I’m browsing skates to buy from canada and I want to buy it in the next week or so cause it takes long for stuff to ship to Australia so I was wondering after the per order comes out when the skate will release so I can get it shipped here from a freind who lives in Canada

  6. Just bought these and they are awesome. coming from Bauer Supreme 1.7 skates and these CCMs lock your foot in better. The angle of the holder puts your foot in an amazing attack position and allows turns not possible on the Bauer skate. Very pleased with these skates.

  7. So I’m on my third pair of jet speeds because of a loud cracking noise in the tendon guard. Anyone else have this problem?

  8. I work as a skate Mechanic over at Hockey Giant in San jose. The only way you’d be experiencing the “clicking” sound you describe as you skate is from the chassis’ (or blade holders) separation from the boot. There are a number of reasons why this happens, but the main thing is to look at your rivets. I can almost guarantee they are either loose and separated from the plastic chassis, or they are rusted severely. On the inside of the boot, under the sole, you will see that they are terribly rotted and hardly holding together. The clicking sound comes from loose rivets holding on your chassis.

  9. DON’T BUY THESE, I’ve had mine for about 2 months now and all of the padding in the boot is gone and the liner is ripping in multiple places. They felt good to start off, but after a little while they went bad. Hopefully I can get a refund.

  10. Couldn’t agree more with Johnny^^^. These skates are terrible quality. I really liked mine for a couple of ice times but since then the padding has all punched out and they are now very sloppy on my feet and feel way to big for me. They are breaking down extremely quickly. The heal padding that goes around the achilles tendon is now twice as wide as a new skate. I had my old Grafs for 5 years and they are still the same as when I bought them. Please use caution and don’t waste your money buying these skates.
