NHL Three Stars – What are they using?

FIRST STAR – ONDREJ PAVELEC, G, WINNIPEG JETS

Ondrej Pavelec Winnipeg Jets

Ondrej Pavelec captured the NHL’s first star of the week honors by going 3-0-0 with one shutout. He posted great numbers including a .970 save percentage and a 0.97 goals against average. Pavelec’s great week helped the Jets hang on to the second wild card position in the Western Conference.

When it comes to gear, Pavelec uses Reebok for protection and Sherwood for his stick. His goal pads are the Reebok Premier XLT pads, and he also uses the Reebok Premier XLT glove and blocker. Pavelec’s stick is the Sherwood T120 goal stick.

SECOND STAR – KYLE TURRIS, C, OTTAWA SENATORS

Kyle Turris Ottawa Senators

Kyle Turris scored four goals and added another two assists to grab the second star of the week. Turris now has 21 goals and 31 assists on the season, good for 52 points. He is nearing career highs in goals, assists and points, and with 10 games remaining, he just may set some of those this year.

Turris is pretty much a Bauer guy when it comes to his gear. He wears a Bauer helmet, as well as Bauer pants. On his hands are Bauer Nexus 1000 gloves, while he uses a Nexus 8000 stick. The Nexus line also appears on his feet, as he wears the Nexus 8000 skates.

THIRD STAR – BEN BISHOP, G, TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING

Ben Bishop Tampa Bay Lightning

Like Pavelec, Ben Bishop also posted a 3-0-0 record last week while earning third star honors. His numbers weren’t quite as good though, managing a 2.00 goals against average along with a .935 save percentage.

Also similar to Pavelec, Bishop uses one brand for his pads and another for his stick. Bishop also uses the Reebok Premier XLT goal pads along with the Premier XLT catch glove and blocker. However, Bishop uses a Warrior goal stick to complete his setup.
