FIRST STAR – MATT DUCHENE, C, COLORADO AVALANCHE
Matt Duchene had a breakout week as he tallied four goals and four assists in only three games played. His eight points on the week were more than he had posted in his previous 14 games to begin the season (6). Duchesne now has eight goals and six assists on the young season.
When it comes to gear, Matt Duchene is a CCM guy. His skates are the white CCM Ribcor’s which will be available for retail purchase in 2016. When it comes to sniping, Duchene is carrying a CCM Ribcor Reckoner stick. His protective gear includes custom pro spec gloves and pants. On his head is a CCM Fitlite FL80 helmet.
SECOND STAR – MATS ZUCCARELLO, RW, NEW YORK RANGERS
Mats Zuccarello earned second star honors by tallying five assists and notching two goals in four games last week. He also had two 3-point games, one against the Blues and another against the Maple Leafs. Zuccarello now has nine goals and nine assists this season for the league leading New York Rangers.
Zuccarello does his work with mostly Bauer gear. He skates on custom Bauer Nexus skates, complete with Bauer’s X-Rib pattern. He wears Bauer APX2 pro model gloves, as well as a Bauer shell/girdle combo. His non-Bauer gear includes an important piece of equipment, the Easton Stealth CX stick which he has been using to score and set up teammates.
THIRD STAR – JAMES REIMER, G, TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS
No offense to James Reimer, but the Maple Leafs goaltender surprised more than a few people and posted great numbers last week. He went 3-0-0 and carried a 1.62 goals against average for the week, helping his club to three wins in four games. Reimer is now 5-2-3 on the season.
As far as his pads go, Reimer is a Bauer guy using Bauer Supreme goal pads, blocker, and catch glove. When it comes to his stick, Reimer uses the Bauer Supreme Total One NXG.
