The Florida Panthers have announced today that superstar Jaromir Jagr will be returning for another season in the sunshine state.
Jagr, who was the Panthers leading point scorer (66), and second leading goal scorer (27), inked a one year contract extension with a cap hit of $4 million according to GeneralFanager.com.
This past season, Jagr proved once again that his age is only a number. He continued to defy the odds and played an incredible 79 games this past season at age 44. More impressive were his 27 goals and 36 assists in those games. Those 27 goals were his most in an NHL season since 2006-07 when he scored 30 with the New York Rangers.
Jagr has had an incredibly productive NHL career and will look to surpass Mark Messier for 2nd place on the all time scoring list next season. He will start the season with 1868 points, trailing Messier by only 19.
