The 2016-17 season has not even officially started yet, but we already have word that one of the Florida Panthers top prospects has broken their hand in a fight.
Jayce Hawryluk, who for the past four seasons has grown into quite a player for the Brandon Wheat Kings, dropped the gloves in a prospect game against Washington Capitals prospect and 2014 first round pick Jakub Vrana. The fight was pretty one sided, as you can see in the video below, with Hawryluk landing a couple of pretty heavy punches. Unfortunately, none of that even matters because he was injured.

Hawryluk was gearing up for his first season as a professional and figured to see some time with the Panthers this season. His pro debut will now be delayed as he has to recover from a broken hand.
Despite the setback, the Panthers organization will still be excited for Hawryluk’s return. Last season, as a member of the Wheat Kings, Hawryluk put up 47 goals, 59 assists, and 106 points in only 58 games played. He remains one of the top Panthers prospects.
