Things have not been great lately for defenseman on the Detroit Red Wings and today we can add another to the mounting list of injured players.
During practice this morning, Red Wings defenseman Brian Lashoff took a puck to the face during a power play drill. He had to be helped off the ice, and it seemed to a bit serious. There is still no word, however, on whether or not Lashoff will dress tonight for the Wings.

This news, unfortunately, comes hot on the heels of some other injuries to Red Wings defenseman. The team just placed Alexey Marchenko on IR after being injured so he will be out for a bit. It also looks like Mike Green will miss at least the next three games after being hit hard by Anaheim’s Ryan Kesler late in Saturday’s game.
To fill the void left by injured players, the Red Wings recalled Nick Jensen from Grand Rapids. If Lashoff is unable to go tonight, which seems likely, Jensen will make his NHL debut against the Carolina Hurricanes. He has 1 goal and 5 assists in 27 games for the Griffins this season.
