For the week ending October 29, we have a familiar veteran leading the way and a rookie rounding out the NHL Three Stars of the Week. Third Star Oscar Dansk might be our biggest surprise of the week after starting the season with the Chicago Wolves. But after Marc-Andre Fleury and Malcolm Subban both went down with injuries, Dansk has come in and helped the Golden Knights continue their win streak. Here’s how this week’s stars earned their spots.
FIRST STAR – JOHN TAVARES, NEW YORK ISLANDERS
John Tavares helped himself to two hat tricks in three games last week and added an assist. His seven points led all players for the week, and Tavares now has nine goals, four assists, and 13 points in 11 games this season.
Tavares has been a CCM since he entered the league, and that has yet to change. He’s currently using a CCM helmet, custom CCM gloves with added backhand protection, and a CCM Ribcor Trigger 2 PMT stick. Tavares also wears CCM pants, and like Alexander Ovechkin, is wearing the new unreleased CCM Super Tacks skates. More details on those coming soon!
SECOND STAR – OSCAR DANSK, VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS
Oscar Dansk earned the first shutout in Golden Knights history last week by way of a 7-0 victory over the Colorado Avalanche on October 29th. He also picked up a 4-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks earlier in the week. The 23-year-old netminder is now 3-0-0 for the Golden Knights and carries a 1.34 goals gainst average along with a .959 save percentage.
Dansk, prior to being injured this week, was using CCM Extreme Flex 3 goal pads along with the Extreme Flex 3 catch glove and blocker. His mask was a Bauer Profile 960 XPM goal mask, and he uses a Bauer Supreme 1S goal stick as well.
THIRD STAR – JEAN-GABRIEL PAGEAU, OTTAWA SENATORS
Jean-Gabriel Pageau collected third star honors after tallying six points last week. He contributed multi-point games against the Philadelphia Flyers and New Jersey Devils, while adding another assist against the Los Angeles Kings. He now has one goal and six assists through 11 games played this season.
Pageau is primarily a Bauer Vapor guy. He just switched to the new 2017 Bauer Vapor 1X skates, but also uses a Bauer Vapor 1X Lite stick and Bauer Vapor 1X Pro gloves. To round it out, Pageau wears a Bauer helmet and Bauer pants.
