Outdoor hockey training season is upon us once again, and with that, it’s time pick up an outdoor hockey goal if you don’t already have one.
Our friends over at Franklin Sports were kind enough to send us The Cage, their 72″ steel hockey goal and we’re excited to check it out and write up a full review. In the meantime, here’s a look at what The Cage has to offer.
The Cage steel hockey goal starts with an NHL on-ice style and design. It features dimensions of 72″(w) x 48″(h) x 40″(d), which makes it perfect for off-ice training at home.
Franklin sports constructed the cage with steel tubing that is 20% thicker in the walls than competitor’s products. It has a pro-style top shelf, perfect for practicing roofing the puck, and features a padded back support brace.
The polyester netting used in The Cage is seamless, super heavyweight, and can withstand all weather conditions. A full coverage wrap-around tarpaulin skate guard helps to keep the base extra protected, and reinforced net perimeter and rope ties are going to help in the longevity department as well.
The Cage seems like the perfect addition to a home training setup, and with the included screw spikes, it can even be taken out onto the backyard ice rink, or a local pond for some shinny.
Keep an eye out for our upcoming review, but if you’re looking to pick one of these up in the meantime, head over to FranklinSports.com where you can pick one up for $250. If you’re an Amazon shopper, check out The Cage on Amazon where you can currently grab one for only $186 at the time of writing.
