How cool or awkward would it be to meet someone in public holding a sign that has your name and the words “YOU SUCK” under it? Would you try to fight that person? Would you ignore it? Or would you be like NHL Vice President of Hockey Operations and chief disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan and pose for a photo with the guy with your arm wrapped around him while pointing at the sign?
That’s exactly what Shanahan did, according to a post today on Pro Hockey Talk. Shanahan does appear to have a sense of humor with the picture, sort of the way NHL fans do with his videos on rulings he made during the regular season and some of his verdicts handed down during the playoffs (see Shea Weber).
