Ridiculous Patrick Kane Shootout Goal in Swiss League

The action has picked up again in the Swiss League after a recent break, and Patrick Kane shows no signs of cooling off. Recently, in a matchup between his HC Biel squad and Ambi-Piotta, Kane had to help settle things in a shootout. In similar fashion to the shootout goal scored against Minnesota last December, Kane skated in and approached goaltender Cory Schneider very slowly. However, his hands were moving incredibly fast, and he was putting on a stickhandling clinic for the fans. In the end, the numerous head fakes and dekes were too much for Schneider and Kane was able to bury the puck into the empty portion of the net with a nice backhand.

Kane currently has 19 points off of 11 goals and 8 assists for HC Biel in the Swiss A league. He has only played 17 games thus far, but his solid contributions should help his confidence when the NHL eventually resumes play. Kane is joined by another NHLer on HC Biel, Tyler Seguin, who currently leads the team in points with 40 in only 29 games. We all hope the lockout ends soon so Kane can bring his dazzling dekes back to the NHL where they belong.

  1. Cory Schneider plays for the Canucks. That shootout goal was either on Niklas Backstrom or Josh Harding, and I’m almost 100% positive that it was Backstrom.
