Rickard Rakell hasn’t made much of a name for himself yet in his first full NHL season, until last night.
Rakell contributed 4 points, including 2 goals and 2 assists during the Ducks 5-4 shootout win over the Winnipeg Jets. He even managed to tally a shootout goal as well.
The highlight of his night, however, was the game-tying goal late in the third period. With just over 2 minutes left to play, Rakell received a pass from behind the net from Pat Maroon. Rakell put his stick between his legs to collect the pass, and tapped it back in front of himself before sliding it past Ondrej Pavelec and into the net.
The game tying goal lead to a six-round shootout where the Ducks would emerge as victors.
With that four point night, Rakell now has 3 goals and 9 assists in 32 games on the season.
