Sometimes it helps having creators of one of the most popular television shows be a fan of your sport.
With the All-Star Game being in Los Angeles this weekend, it only made sense to have South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker involved somehow. The two are well known among fans who attend games at Staples Center with Cartman and Kenny appearing in messages on the scoreboard. Along with producer Frank Angone- who is perhaps the biggest Kings fan of the trio- they have been teaming up with the Kings organization for almost the entire 20-year run of the show.
So with the best players in the league converging on Los Angeles this weekend, it was fitting to do something special for the players. Each player received a poster of the entire All-Star team in their likeness as well as a portrait of themselves in uniform with the four main characters from the show: Cartman, Kenny, Stan and Kyle.
The Washington Capitals tweeted photos of Braden Holtby and Alexander Ovechkin to show their fans.
Ever wonder what @ovi8 and @Holts170 would look like as @SouthPark characters? #NHLAllStar #CapsAllStar pic.twitter.com/fcuHNsWsxt
