Seven goals and two goalies later, the Winnipeg Jets routed the Florida Panthers last night to take 8th spot in the Eastern Conference and only 2 points out from the Southeast Division lead. That lead lead belongs to the Panthers, yet, the Panther have 3 games in hand on the Jets. Mark Stuart, Kyle Wellwood and Blake Wheeler all had 2 point nights but Evander Kane takes the cake with 2 goals, 2 assists, +4 rating and 9 shots on goal. The goals were Kane’s 25th and 26th of the season, putting him at 46 points for a career high; previously 43 points in 76 games played. The Jets have gone 5-3-2 in their last 10 and hope to hold onto the 8th seed for the playoffs. That hope may be harder achieved than thought, as the Jets also have 2 to 3 games more played then those trailing.
