Definitely not what the New Jersey Devils fans wanted to see. The Devils, who recently had goaltender Martin Brodeur return from injury, now has star forward Ilya Kovalchuk out 2-4 weeks. Kovalchuk is currently the Devil’s second highest point producer with 10 goals and 17 assists. While the team has a 3-point spread from them and the 8th seed, it will be interesting to see how the remainder of the season plays out, be it playoff bound or missing the playoffs by only a few points.
