Update: The Bauer Nexus 8000 stick is now available for pre-order at Ice Warehouse! Click here to buy yours now!
Bauer Hockey will be refreshing their Nexus line of sticks with the new, and top of the line, Bauer Nexus 8000 stick. Expected to drop in 2014, the Bauer Nexus 8000 stick will be a bit more colorful than its predecessor. Adding in some silver and blue accents on the shaft, the Nexus 8000 stick stands out quite a bit more than the stealthy blacked out Nexus 1000.
The Nexus line of hockey sticks utilizes Tru-Mid-Flex technology to give it a natural release on shots. It is expected that the Nexus 8000 stick will continue to use a true one-piece design, much like the Nexus 1000.
While there are no specific dates for launch yet, the Bauer Nexus 8000 stick will assuredly come to a retail store near you in 2014. Until then, check out the pictures below and let us know your thoughts on the Bauer Nexus 8000. Do you like the design? Will you pick one up?
when does it come out I’m going to get it when it comes out i hope it comes out like in november
Nice work daren. Read much? How about the second sentence? Does that give you a clue when it may be available?
Lol
Idk if I like it. It really looks like an Easton stick with the new modern graphics and the different graphics on either side of the stick
Looks a lot like the APX2… I have two Apx2’s and love them. Gonna buy one of these to try as soon as they come out.
My nexus 1000 is 10 times better
I just bought 2 nexus 1000’s on clearance during sportcheck’s Boxing Day sale. I got each stick for $139.99 each. This new nexus looks pretty sick though.
Sick twig. When is it coming out? I love the nexus
They are expecting it spring of 2014. Now from other website information, a more specific time is late spring / early summer release. If this stick is released after the Nexus 8000 skates, it will be a summer release.
I think it looks like the apx2 just a little to much and I don’t like the blue but otherwise it looks great
i agree with tanner
I love it ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
They will be available (in Switzerland though) by march 22.
I’m eager to see if they keep up with my RibCore and nxg…
the nexus 8000 is a total one nxg with a mid kick flex instead of a low kick flex it uses the same kind of carbon as long with the classic checker board carbon blade if you like the nxg durability and you like the mid kick flex feel of the nexus line than you will love the new nexus 8000 if you want better selections of flex and curve than try out the rebok ribcore it is a light well balanced mid flex stick I’m not a a rebok guy by any means i would have taken any bauer or warrior over any rebook but they really thought out of the box with the ribcore it is the best stick i have ever used i would take my ribcore over my old nxg any day
Just got this stick yesterday from total hockey…it isn’t as light as the apx 2 but it’s not heavy at all. Overall I love it
They have the exact same weight at 420 g
Will it be available in all black like the nexus 1000
who cares about the look!!!! Its about the feel, the comfort, and the ability to play at your best.
Comments: I was really pleased with Nexus 1000 which for me was the best stick ever. It was lightweight and it had very pleasant feel while shooting. (Better than NXG or APX for me.) What a bad surprise for me whan I bought the Nexus 8000. It is heavier (no matter what Bauer say) and the improved mid kick feels like cheap amateur stick. Im very dissapointed I really loved the Nexus 1000 and was really trying to like the 8000. But after this experience I’m going to try another brand. (Sher-wood is introducing the lightest stick to the market.)

After few games with the stick I would like to correct my previous angry review a little bit. It is still not the good old Nexus 1000, but is not so bad at all. The biggest problem I see that it feels heavier than the old model. I have an Total One NXG(87) = 476 grams, Vapor APX NXG1(87) = 469 grams, Nexus 8000 (87) = 462 grams and finally the old great Nexus 1000(95) = 431 grams. I also had an Nexus 1000(87) which was a little bit heavier than the Nexus 1000(95). All sticks are same length of corse. If I should chose between Bauer sticks right now, I would choose the Total One NXG. It is the heaviest one, but it feels as the lightest. It is very good balanced and it fits best in the hand. Strenght of shots seems to be similar, maybe even harder if you know what you are doing compared to Nexus. Total One is a little bit less forgiving but better stick at all. I would never buy an Vapor stick anymore. The low kick point is worse for shooting. Shots are weaker and more difficult to do. I don’t see any advantages to have low kick point stick. I wonder that its firing faster snap or wrist shots. If so, it is in milliseconds but in comparison with weaker shots its nonsense. (Sorry for my english.)
