NHL Draft: 10 late-round steals with a big NHL impact

Dominik Hasek

Perhaps one of the greatest draft steals of all time, Dominik Hasek was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 10th round of the 1983 Entry Draft. He played all of 25 games over the course of two seasons before being traded to the Buffalo Sabres, where he emerged as one of the game’s elite goalies, winning his first of six Vezina Trophy’s in 1994 as the league’s best goaltender. He eventually went on to win two Stanley Cups with the Detroit Red Wings in 2002 and 2008, and ranks 11th in regular season wins with 389, and sixth in regular season shutouts with 61.
