NHL Draft: 10 late-round steals with a big NHL impact

Brad Richards

While Richards is currently enjoying the twilight of his career with the Chicago Blackhawks, most fans know him for his offensive prowess—twice scoring 90+ points in a season and posting 60 or more points nine times in his NHL career. He was also a critical component of the Stanley Cup-winning roster of the 2004 Tampa Bay Lightning, where he had 12 goals and 14 assists in 23 playoff games that season. What many don’t remember is that Richards was selected in the third round of the 1998 NHL Draft—the same one where the Lightning selected Vincent Lecavalier first overall.
