NHL Draft: 10 late-round steals with a big NHL impact

Daniel Alfredsson

Longtime Ottawa Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson will go down in history as one of the greatest Swedes to play in the NHL. He is also the only player from the 1994 draft to score more than 1,000 points. In total, Alfredsson played in 1,246 career games in the NHL, scoring 444 goals and 713 assists. In the same year that the Florida Panthers took defenseman Ed Jovanovski first overall, the Ottawa Senators selected Alfredsson in the sixth round.
